The Jew said it wasn't much, "but we'll take it!" & the State of Israel was born in one day as the prophet Isaiah proclaimed about 2800 years ago! The Arab refused a state & attacked the tiny state of Israel the very next day. Mac & I had just gotten married in Feb. of that year & missed heazring about all this going on--(I had to read about it later to put it all together.) (I also learned later that the boat^Exodusthat was used was an old Bay Liner that went from Baltimore to Norfolk--a pleasure boat for coastal travel. It was overhauled, fixed up to carry as many as possible by the Jews--Joan's boyfriend's grandfather, Mr. Goodman, hear, was instrumental in the work being done on the old boat. It was done "in secret" or they worried whether it would^evenmake it across the Atlantic! It did! & was named "Exodus".) The Arabs attacked Israel 4 times & lost every time, in '48, '56, 67 & 73 & finally realized they couldn't win in a war & so tried the Muslim "peace" trick--where we are at present in ^August1999.
