Drowsy - up late - helped M. at cleaning.  Filled batteries, put another qt of antifreeze in radiator.  Chains necessary to get up driveway.

Finished writing sermon.

Took Jean & 3 other girls to Inter. League Social at Cowgills'.

Sunday, January 19

Got started ok, in spite of cold.  Preached to a good crows at Bowie on "The Church & the Presence of Christ."  

Very small attendance at Chapel.  Stood by organ & talked. (8 adults & 3 children)  But at close, Mrs. W Brickerd said she wanted to join the church--a converted Roman Catholic.  I told her to bring her husband & join next Sunday.  

Sleigh riding for the children in afternoon.  Not as large a crowd as usual at night at Whitefield.
