Kindex

Hello Mom and Dad,                                Nov. 4 [1972]

Sounds interesting, Dad, about the Hood girls.

That must be some robe. Thats pretty nice. You got cheered up and all.

It was really nice being home. And Thanksgiving is less than 3 weeks away.

Its going to be busy from now until then (Thanksgiving). If the next 2 weeks go as fast as this first one is seeming to go I'll be home before I know it. Must be the same at home with that play and homecoming and other things. When you're busy time goes fast, of course.

I had my play read by 8:00 the next morning (went to bed at usual time and got up usual time too - I sleep from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am).

Typed up my Medieval Mind paper Monday night and turned it in today. Already its a week since I left from home.

Yesterday and Tues it was very warm - almost 80°. Today its very cold. Must be near 40°. I was mowing grass Tuesday. Tomorrow I could be shoveling snow.

Marcel Marceau was good. Very subtle as panomiming is. I feel very lucky in being able to see him in person. A couple of times

I felt like bursting out laughing but the audience was just politely or more quietly laughing. I think they felt it wouldn't be right to really laugh at some things. He was like a little kid sometimes and that was really funny. There are some things that can be done in panomime that can't be done in a play where words are used. It doesn't matter that he speaks French because he has a universal language in what he does.

He can go as far as imagination will carry his audience.

When he play "David and Goliath" he had a small black canvas that he chased [letter shows a drawing] himself around and at the end he had both David and Goliath (both him) come out and bow.

The crowd gave him a standing ovation at the end of the show.

Love,

   Mike
