Dear mom and dad, Feb. 25 Thursday [1971]
feel like writing today. As you see with the small letters instead of capitals, though, I'm not filled with energy. My body should take advantage of the hours I spend in bed, but it doesn't always. Got in bet at 10:00 last night. Didn't get to sleep until sometime after 11:00 maybe. But Dave got in about 10 after 2:00 from a wrestling meet and I was slightly aware of him coming in. I must have been half asleep. I woke up though at 5:00 in the morning. I was too awake too even though I got back to sleep until 7:00. Finally got up at 20 of 8:00.
Track is in the afternoon right before supper. It's hard to eat after a hard practice. Nothing seems really appetizing except water and milk. Anything that has to be

chewed doesn't seem worth the effort. Food seems to be going down hill or I'm getting sick of it or fed-up with it.
David Frye does do the presidents he did Nixon on Smothers Brothers I'm sure.
No classes with Dave. He thinks of transferring, yes. [He might not though.]
I try to "enjoy" being in the cafe (dining hall) now, I am more relaxed. / Some good things have been happening but I'm so tired. It's so wet here too. Mud all over. Snow and ice is a mess. It hasn't all melted. It's brown and black. Puddles and water draining. Things aren't as bad as they seem. Nor as hard as they may sound. After all it's a fairly nice day. A bit of blue sky and not too cold. I must spend some time with other things right now. / It is now evening and all classes are over.

Some of the guys are going to a ballet tonight, "Carmina Burana." Am I missing something? Or would I be able to appreciate it or not. I don't know if I would. I was sure this afternoon that I'd have other things to do and that I'd want to get some sleep but now I could probably live through it.
I went! last night. [It's now 10:00 Friday night and I just got back from a wrestling match. Wasn't so hot. It was good though. J.V.'s and Varsity lost. Saw it with a guy from down the other end of the hall who is out for track, Kim Davis, he got a 3.0 averg last semester. He's pretty good guy.] The Ballet was actually pretty good. The second half was a little more lively than the first.
I've felt pretty good today. Track practice went ok. It's been like a spring day today. Raining a little now. Hardly enough to notice or to be bothered by though.
We have a portable refrigerator (rented) in the room. Keep all the oranges in it. Freezer compartment for ice too. It's about 20" cubed.
Well I better do a little studying before I try to get to sleep.
Love, Mike
