Went in to city after taking Chas. to school - to Congressional Library after buying 2 books, etc.

Read in Chas. Wm Eliot's 5ft shelf - Lieut. Col. Haskell's account of the Battle of Gettysburg, also an account in Harts' edited U.S. Hist. & Channings' Hist.  How different various men report the same thing.  Disagreements & contradictions abound.

Brought children home.

Evg. spent at church in basement with Boots Harvey & Holmes Spillman making alterations.
