He seems to be quite enthus
-iastic over Christianity & is
very anxious for his boys to
get an education & work for
the Lord. He hinself went
to SHK to Study the Bible.
Thos his mother accused him of
deserting the family. He opened
the Bible to the plan about
the marriage feast & next to

family not being worthy.

Shan Feng a scorcher.
Auntie Dyer left for Peking
& Mrs Lawrence Tristain
Potts returned from a week
and in Shanhaichuran.
Chang Ching Ching washed
windows. He is a fine lad.
First wife died, took opium
because of the Tyranny of her Mother-
in Law. when engaged again. He
said he would not subject another
wife to his mother's cruelty. His
bro's wife is half starving on the
Nearby village rather than
submit to bad treatment by her
mother in law.
