Dear Mom and Dad      (Tues.) [5 Oct 1971]

Happy Birthday dad (I got home too late Monday to call to wish you a happy one - but I wanted to call to say hi...)

got the cook stove in the kitchen now & almost hooked up. Looks good. May be going to Baltimore this weekend --- Richard's gotta record with his group --- I'll let ya know if we decide not to go... but any way stop by and rest here if you want --- take a look at whats left of Agnes' kittens (we had to give the black one away) they're really pretty --- Agnes is sick again. I'm trying to keep them seperate so they won't nurse --- Hope she makes it. I got a few more plants...the place looks nice with them. I canned tomatoes this year -- not

too many though ----there's plenty of tomatoes out there yet---maybe I'll do some more --- only thing, since all this rain a lot of them are mildewing along with everything else. Gosh it's damp! Today was a little better... I've been making yogurht every week now. I sometimes mix it with your blackberry jelly. that's real good. you should make yogurht some time and try it. I made pies outa those pumpkin you gave me froze some of the pie and that seems to be a good way to keep it fresh -- (Richard & I can't eat so many at one time).

3 of my paintings are gonna be hung in the new student center at Buck

-nell -- Have you seen the building... We think it's quite a little waste at money (specially since there are so many more important things that need to be done... as usual)

Went for a walk in the woods the other morning and found zillions of beautiful mushrooms... most of them were poisonous but they looked so pretty there. they are huge some of them. Well gotta go...

Hope maybe we'll see ya.

Love,
